CEDA Partner Packages

Many suppliers have recognised CEDA members as being a large and very professional part of the primary route to market for their products and have expressed an interest in "joining" CEDA to allow them to network with members and contribute to CEDA's work in raising standards throughout the industry.

CEDA has always been grateful for the generous financial support given by suppliers when sponsoring the annual conference; however, it recognised that it could offer more than just the conference exposure. We have therefore developed the CEDA "Partner" Package to enable suppliers to strengthen their business relationship with CEDA members whilst benefiting from shared exposure in a high profile campaign to raise end user awareness of the benefits of dealing with a CEDA member.

Other Partner Packages

The preceding information relates to the comprehensive "Platinum" package available to all suppliers but which are being taken up primarily by the major heavy equipment suppliers. It is recognised by CEDA that many smaller and light equipment suppliers will not be able to justify such a large element of their overall marketing spend on this package and therefore two lesser packages are available as options to these suppliers.

  • "Gold" package.
This excludes any involvement in the conference other than as a paying delegate. It includes the logo and hyperlink, but a lesser profile on the CEDA web site, the hosting and presentation at regional meetings and the adverts/editorials in eCEDA News. The package includes networking after regional meetings.
The cost of the "Gold" package is £5000
  • "Silver" package
This is limited to the inclusion of the logo in the advertising, direct mail and a listing on the web site (Note! the logo can be included on the web site at an additional cost of £500). Package includes networking after regional meetings.
The cost of the "Silver" package is £1500

The Platinum package includes three logos on all advertisements, Gold and Silver packages include one logo. The cost for additional logos is £300 per logo

The arrangement runs throughout the calendar year starting 1st January 2007.

CEDA is happy to assist with cash flow by accepting payment in two or three instalments.

More details on the Partners package

  • Advertising campaign

Whilst most suppliers recognise the high standards to which CEDA members are committed to uphold, it is a fact that very few end users are aware of what CEDA membership means to them.  It has been recognised that CEDA needs to identify the key benefits associated with the CEDA brand and to publicise this in a high profile advertising campaign.

The key benefits are

  • A large national network of members who, whilst independent, all co-operate to give a comprehensive service.
  • Vast experience to enable them to offer the very best impartial advice on all aspects of catering equipment selection.
  • The ability to supply anything from a single item to a complete kitchen including design, project management, installation, commissioning and after sales service.
  • The widest choice of different makes of catering equipment. CEDA members work with all major manufacturers and suppliers and will source any individual item of equipment.

The key message of the advertisements will be

BUY WITH CONFIDENCE WHERE YOU SEE THIS SIGN CEDA Logo

  • Direct Mail Campaign

It is recognised by CEDA that one of the key assets that it has is the database of end user customers held by its members. Obviously, each member jealously guards this information; however, CEDA is planning to produce a bespoke four-page brochure for members to mail to their customers.

The centre pages of the brochures will contain essential buying advice for end users. Where appropriate, this advice will be product and feature specific; however, it will not refer to brands but stick to general considerations to help the buyer make the best choice of equipment for their needs. The back page will feature the CEDA advertisement with suppliers' logos and the front page will be bespoke to the individual distributor.

The cost of the creation of the brochure template will be borne by CEDA and each participating member will pay £500 for the 2000 brochures. This figure is considerably less than the cost of a member producing his own bespoke brochure and will, we feel, be taken up by a high proportion of members as it is particularly affordable for even the smaller members.

We are also planning to use a bonded mailing centre to carry out the mailings for members who prefer this to doing the mailing themselves.

  • Regional meetings

Partners will be able to host and make a 15-minute presentation at one meeting a year. It is not necessarily envisaged that the meeting will be at the Partners premises, but at an interesting venue where they have their equipment installed. It is felt that these more interesting venues will encourage more members to participate in the meetings. CEDA will approach Partners with the region and an approximate date when they would like to hold a meeting and ask the Partner to nominate a venue and make the initial contact with their own contacts to make sure that the meeting can go ahead. The CEDA secretariat will then make all other arrangements and pay for the catering services.

Partners will not be allowed to participate in the actual business meeting, however, they will be able to network with members both before and after the meeting.

Members will be encouraged to attend all meetings. If the principal cannot be there, they will be asked to send another member of staff to represent their company.

  • Conference

Traditionally, exposure for suppliers at the annual CEDA conference has been the main opportunity for a high profile involvement with CEDA and will still remain a major plank in the overall "Partner" package.

Key partners will have an exhibition stand at the conference. This can be either be used to show equipment or simply be a table and chairs to facilitate one to one discussion between partners and members. Members will be required to visit all partners stands during the conference period and this will be monitored. They will also have their logos prominently displayed on all conference literature and on the rolling PowerPoint display, which runs throughout the conference.

  • eCEDA News

The frequency of this electronic newsletter will be regularised to every three months and on each edition there will be adverts or advertorials for three key partners.

  • PR

So far PR has not been mentioned in the "Partners" package as it will obviously be focused on CEDA and not suppliers, however, it is important that partners know our full plans.

Caterer Group has agreed to CEDA writing a 400 word introduction to the product feature in "Buy It" magazine. This magazine will be published as a "bound in" item in the last edition of Caterer and Hotelkeeper every month, starting January 2007, as well as being circulated to another 5000 readers as a separate magazine. The introduction will focus on good advice for potential buyers and take them through all of the questions they need to ask themselves to enable them to make an informed decision on the choice of the correct equipment for their needs.

A more comprehensive version of this information will be published on the CEDA web site and will also list the partners who supply the particular type of product. Over a period of a year or so this will accumulate into a comprehensive buyer's guide and make the web site into an even more valuable resource for buyers.

  • Partner posters

The posters will be the same as the CEDA advertisement but with only the partner's own logo(s). They are intended for use on exhibition stands etc.
